Genesee Valley Swiss Alphorn Seminar Echoes of the Genesee Swiss Alphorn Seminar will bring enthusiasts of the Swiss Alphorn to the hills of Western New York for five days of thrilling music and inspiring clinics. Sponsored by the Academie Suisse de Cor des Alpes and the Alphorn Society of Western New York under the auspices of the Swiss Society of Rochester, this unique seminar will feature rehearsals and performances in and around the hills surrounding the Genesee River, including performances in Letchworth Park, the "Grand Canyon of the East," and Niagara Falls. It will culminate with a featured appearance at the Swiss National Holiday celebrations on Saturday, August 1st. Biographical Sketches: Seminar Organizer William Zell Born and raised in Baden, outside Zürich, Will Zell attended the University ( ) in Italy and emigrated to the United States, studying at Harvard and entertaining a very successful career in the business of optics in France and in the Far East. An avid and articulate advocate of the Swiss Alphorn, Mr. Zell has been an enthusiastic participant in in Alphorn Seminars in Montreux, Kenya and Egypt.

Glenn Call is a Yamaha Performing Artist on the Euphonium and former member of the famed US Marine Band, "The President's Own" in Washington DC. He has bachelor's and master's degrees in music performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York and has extensive studies in Germanic literatures at the doctoral level from the University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Call's particular specialty is embouchure cultivation.

Wednesday: Rehearsals, Clinics and Mini Concert at New York Wine and Culinary Center on Canandaigua Lake and at Dr. Frank Winery on Keuka Lake IV. Thursday: Rehearsals, Clinics and Mini Concert in Letchworth State Park "Grand Canyon of the East" V. Friday: Rehearsals, Clinics and Mini Concert at Niagara Falls VI.
